1 Setting Up Family Pairing on TikTok

Open your TikTok app, go to your profile, and tap the three lines on the upper-right, then tap Settings and Privacy.
Scroll to “Family Pairing”, click Continue, and select Parent; a QR code will be displayed.
Your child then goes to the same Family Pairing option on their device, selects Teen, and either scans the QR code or taps the shared links.
Now linked, you can proceed to administer settings such as screen time, content filters, and privacy controls.

Too many notifications may lead to their overuse.
Via Family Pairing:
Tap Push Notification Schedule
Set off-hours, e.g., 9 PM to 8 AM
Teens can also change which notifications they want to receive, but their settings take precedence.

For teens aged 13 to 15, TikTok automatically sets accounts to private, but can be changed to public.
Activate privacy using Family Pairing as follows:
Go to Privacy and Safety
Toggle Private account on
Turn off Suggest to your teen to others
This completely stops any viewing or messaging by strangers.
