Gina Doyle5 months agoMy husband (29) works from home, and we have a German Shepherd that he never got fixed. I (25, female) have a Yorkie. We moved into a new duplex last year, and the landlord has a male dog. He said he would put up a fence to split the yard so the dogs could be separated, but he never did, and now our German Shepherd got pregnant. I told my husband we should get the dog fixed, but he refused. Now we have two puppies, the German Shepherd, and my Yorkie, and the puppies are in the middle of potty training. My husband works from home all day, but he lets the puppies run around and have accidents all over the house, and he doesn’t clean up after them. I work at my salon outside the home, and when I come back, the house is a mess and smells terrible. I immediately start cleaning, while my husband stays in bed. He’s off work before me, so I get really frustrated that he won’t help clean up the dog pee. I’ve asked him to let them outside every hour or even every 30 minutes, but he won’t do it. Tonight, while I was cleaning, I stepped in dog pee. I completely lost my temper. I got in my car and left because I just couldn’t take it anymore. If he wants to sit in the mess, that’s on him, but I’m not doing it. My husband hasn’t called or texted me; he hasn’t done anything to try and fix this. I don’t talk to him about it anymore because whenever I do, he refuses to take responsibility and just points out things I do wrong. So now, I avoid bringing it up. I honestly feel like he couldn’t care less if I didn’t come home. He says he’s always tired after work, but I’m tired too. I still clean, take care of the dogs, and do everything else. He doesn’t seem to take my work seriously because "all I do is hair," so he thinks it’s not as exhausting as what he does. I just need advice on what to do while I calm down. Any thoughts on how to handle this situation?145
