Hazel Perez2 years agoGood undergrad advertising programs? I’m still in high school but I want to get a bachelors in advertising at some 4 year university / college. I don’t plan on going straight into an ad school after high school and I want to know what are the schools with good and up to date undergrad advertising programs. I hear Syracuse University, Brigham Young University, University of Florida, Miami, and UT Austin getting tossed around. Could anyone give their input on the programs? Is it up to date— how’s the alumni network— job placement— do they help you start developing a good portfolio? What are some other schools with good advertising programs? I know I’ll still need work experience, but it’ll be nice to be learning and benefiting from a school’s program. I may apply to VCU Brandcenter’s Art Direction program, but that’s a lot further off in the future and I need an undergrad degree first anyway. I’m not even sure if majoring in advertising is a good idea actually— but from what I know of it I like a lot. I’ll greatly appreciate any guidance people have to give here. I may have been misguided in some areas so I hope people could correct me if I was! 21
