BenQ 960UST Overview

Create large images from short distances in museums and exhibitions with the BenQ LU960UST 5200-Lumen WUXGA Ultra-Short Throw Laser DLP Installation Projector. It outputs up to 5200 lumens of brightness to provide vibrant images, even in settings with ambient light. The ultra-short 0.25:1 throw ratio lets you place the projector within 3' of your screen or wall to achieve images up to 150" while helping to avoid on-screen shadows.

HDBaseT, VGA, DisplayPort, and two HDMI inputs are onboard to connect both standard definition and HD sources. The HDMI and VGA outputs let you daisy-chain your video source to another projector or display to simplify larger installations. You can control the projector via the included remote control or over Ethernet or RS-232. A remote control is included as an added convenience.

BlueCore Laser Technology

Laser Light Source Technology

Extending its line of BlueCore laser projectors, BenQ presents the LU960UST, especially designed for ultra-short throw, fixed lens installation with installation flexibility to merge into limited space.

Superior Brightness

Zero-deviation alignment of BlueCore laser diodes boosts luminous flux into the light tunnel, improving light efficacy to 5200 lumens.

Superior Performance

Dual synchronized BlueCore color wheels utilize an additive yellow segment, stimulating precise RGBY spectra for optimal chromatic performance.

Superior Durability

Comprised of over two million micromirrors that reflect pure light through the color wheel, the DLP chip is hermetically sealed to resist heat for over 200,000 hours without degradation.

Excellent Installation Flexibility

Ultra-Short Throw Design for Unobstructed Viewing without Space Constraints

Producing larger-than-life images in tight spaces with a 0.25:1 ultra-short throw ratio, the LU960UST eliminates distracting shadows and glare for viewers to move freely in front of the screen while enjoying immersive viewing experiences in places with space limitations or retail application with a lot traffic.

Native Resolution Switch and Digital Lens Shift

The LU960UST is built with the native resolution switch function so users can change the native resolution from WUXGA to 1080p. When the native resolution is set at 1080p, the vertical lens shift function will be enabled for users to perfectly align images in any challenging venue, such as when lights or vents are located at the ceiling mounting site. Lens shift can move projected images up and down by 5% of screen height.

Digital Shrink and Shift without Distortion

Digital image shrinking and shift lets installers shrink the image to 80% of the original size in 0.5% increments via the OSD menu. The image can also be shifted, so installers do not have to reinstall or adjust the projector physically in case the image is not precisely aligned on the desired frame and space.

360° and Portrait Projection Accommodate Different Spaces

BlueCore laser technology guarantees reliable projection from any angle. Dynamic installation options such as 360° rotation and portrait applications allow projection onto the ceiling, walls, floors, or angled signage.

Ensure Consistent Brightness Blending with Custom Light Mode

Custom Light Mode modulates light power output from 40% to 100% under a scale of 80 steps, optimizing the projected image in a variety of ambient lighting situations. It is especially useful for blending consistent brightness across multiple projections.

Wired Remote Control Option

The wired remote control option offers projector installers and IT managers extra setup convenience and ease of operation. The added wired control functionality makes the device a dependable choice for projector installation adjustment.

Remote Control Projector ID Setting for Independent Control

Installers and IT managers can assign a specific remote control ID to each projector to avoid signal interference and unintentional changes when installing multiple projectors in a venue.

3D Sync In & Out

Connect up to three projectors and project 3D content together from a single computer.

HDBaseT for Uncompressed Transmission and Control from up to 328' Away

HDBaseT connectivity combines video, audio, RS-232, and LAN control signals from multiple sources including computers, document cameras, Blu-ray Disc, and DVD players onto a single RJ45 cable. This ensures seamless transmissions up to 328'.

Superior Image Quality

Lag-Busting Response with Fast Mode

Based on expertise gained from experience with near-zero latency displays used in gaming, the LU960UST employs Fast Mode functions to provide latency as low as 16.67 ms. The LU960UST can serve fast-moving dynamic or interactive scenes such as in immersive cycling simulation and amusement park theaters very well.

WUXGA Resolution for Enhanced Detail and Expanded Content

With an impressive WUXGA (1920 x 1200) native resolution that exceeds Full HD 1080p, the BenQ LU960UST BlueCore laser projector offers greater details and stunning image clarity when projecting high-resolution images.

Dual Color Wheels Produce 92% of Rec.709 Color Coverage for Optimal Color Performance

The LU960UST's powerful BlueCore laser projection utilizes a dual color wheel system to produce unparalleled color performance that achieves up to 92% of Rec.709 color coverage. By increasing color ratios and the purity of RGBY color, the LU960UST dramatically enhances color saturation to ensure superior presentation quality.

High Brightness for Vivid Clarity in Bright Ambient Environments

The LU960UST's 5200 lumens of brightness produces wondrous displays in bright, compact exhibition spaces with superb image quality.

Laser-Powered Ultra-High Contrast

The LU960UST laser projector creates strikingly clear images with stratospherically high 3,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for true deep blacks, vivid rich colors, and fine subtle details. The LU960UST also features spontaneous response, requiring no wait to turn on or resume from blanking in true black for flexible performance capability.

HDMI 2.0 for Supreme Image Quality

The LU960UST has HDMI 2.0 ports that you can use to effortlessly project content easily and enjoy greater brightness and contrast range than SDR.

Gamma Selection

Select the gamma level of your preference and optimize the image quality between input source and picture brightness. The LU960UST also provides BenQ and DICOM Gamma curves to satisfy your various needs.

Enduring Reliability

24/7 Operation

The laser light source supports continuous 24/7 operation and is suitable for public display applications in museums and exhibitions. Users can choose from three different light source modes to optimize energy consumption and delivers up to 70,000 hours under Dimming Mode.

Superior Dustproofing for Severe Conditions with IP5X Certification

BenQ BlueCore laser projectors are designed with sealed laser modules and enclosed light engines to protect the DMD chip, color wheel sensor, laser bank, and other optical components. This lock-and-key design hermetically seals the engine from dust to prolong projector lifespan.

Highly Integrated Network Control and Management System Compatibility

Centralized Control with BenQ Software

BenQ centralized control software is a management tool for computers that enables remote and centralized management of multiple digital projectors by IT administrators and technicians via a local network. The management capabilities include the ability to remotely monitor, control, and configure projectors individually or as groups.

Network / Web Control

BenQ BlueCore laser projectors are compatible with Creston, AMX, and PJ Link control systems for convenient system integration with various third-party components and reduced cost to centrally maintain multiple projectors.
