Schwarzenegger is better at fantasy comic-book characters, where there’s a heavy suspension of disbelief; but Stallone is more the “tragic Everyman” type that’s more serious.

No, they’re just different. Arnold is a hero, Stallone more anti-hero.

Just my opinion, both guys have had fantastic careers as action heroes and both have different strengths on screen but I would say that Sylvester has demonstrated better all around acting skills than Arnold.

Stallone’s powerful performance in Cop Land is a good example of him relying more on his acting skills than his muscles as his character packs more of an emotional punch than a physical one. His breakdown at the end of First Blood was a tremendous piece of acting too as the PTSD suffering John Rambo suddenly lets out years of pent up frustration.

I believe that both men are quite underrated as actors I personally would give Sylvester the edge in acting skills. I think he can let his guard down on screen in a way that Arnold really hasn’t shown all that much during his movie career.

In my opinion Stallone is better at playing a more grounded and realistic character. He excels at playing the tragic underdog, while Schwarzenegger is more adept at playing the larger than life force of nature type action hero.

Schwarzenegger was more charismatic and had a much stronger screen presence. He also is a much more natural comedic actor and possesses a good understanding of timing and how to deliver a good one liner.

Tough one. Both men are known for their action roles rather than their acting skills, and in my opinion both are decent actors, although their strengths lie in different areas.

They are both iconic, larger-than-life men, Stallone and Schwarzenegger. They both shaped the childhood of countless boys and young men around the world, from the 70s, 80s and 90s until today. I remember seeing my first Schwarzenegger movie… I was eight years old.
