

Gandhinagar, 2 May 2025 – Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, accompanied by top state officials including the Chief Secretary, Principal Advisor, and Senior Secretaries, visited Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) to closely assess the progress of several transformative infrastructure projects.
During the visit, officials informed the Chief Minister that 95% of the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway has already been completed. Other key developments underway include the Bhimnath-Dholera freight rail corridor, a 192-bed hospital, a school up to Class 12, a fire station, and residential facilities aimed at supporting investors and workers.
Significant milestones have also been achieved with the completion of a 300 MW solar park, comprehensive road networks, underground utilities, and plug-and-play industrial infrastructure, laying a strong foundation for industrial growth.
As part of the state’s strategic vision, CM Patel reiterated the goal of turning Dholera Smart City into a Semiconductor Hub, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s broader vision of establishing India as a global semiconductor powerhouse. The Chief Minister’s review also included progress updates on the Tata Electronics semiconductor facility coming up within the proposed Dholera Semicon City.
Dr. Kuldeep Arya, CEO of Dholera SIR and MD of Dholera Industrial City Development Ltd. (DICDL), delivered a detailed presentation on current developments. The briefing highlighted the completion of crucial infrastructure such as water and sewage treatment plants, a common effluent treatment plant, ICT systems, and the iconic ABCD building – all crucial to supporting high-tech industrial activity in the region.
Twelve developers working on different projects within Dholera SIR presented their updates, showcasing the region’s growing momentum. The CM provided on-the-spot feedback and direction to ensure timely and quality execution across all projects.
Chief Minister Patel also inspected the Dholera International Airport, where work is ongoing on the cargo terminal, main terminal building, and runway—an ambitious project with an estimated investment of ₹1,350 crore. His visit served as both a progress check and a motivational push for on-ground teams working on this critical logistics hub.
A team of high-level officials accompanied the Chief Minister on his visit. These included Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj Joshi, Principal Advisor Dr. Hasmukh Adhia, Additional Chief Secretary Shri M.K. Das, Advisors Shri S. S. Rathore, Principal Secretary of Industries and Mines Smt. Mamta Verma, Principal Secretary of Science and Technology Smt. Mona Khandhar, and Secretary to the Chief Minister Smt. Avantika Singh, along with the Ahmedabad Collector and District Development Officer.
This visit underscores the government’s strong commitment to fast-tracking infrastructure in Dholera and transforming it into a global industrial and semiconductor destination.
